Winkler Award

Jordan Winkler

(April 5, 1985 - November 26, 2004)

Jordan Winkler was a 2003 Graduate of Union High School, where he was a varsity wrestler and proud Union Redskin. He was the son of Steve and Lenora Winkler of Tulsa, and the big brother of his proud sister, Breynna. Jordan was a dedicated and hard working wrestler, who began wrestling in the ninth grade. Throughout his career Jordan received several awards including "Most Improved Wrestler" and the "Pride Award." He was also a three time letterman.

Jordan could hardly wait to graduate from high school so that he could enter the Marine Corps. He loved the Marines and always gave his best. He became a Lance Corporal as a result of leadership and quick thinking exhibited in an incident in early October that likely saved several lives.

In honor of Jordan this award represents a senior wrestler who demonstrates leadership, citizenship, a strong work ethic and determination.
